BACK TO THE FUTURE

2010 OTC Fall Season Memo

Though the wonderful summer of 2010 has not ended, it is time to start planning for the fall season. After a lot of thought and consideration of our members’ opinions, I have decided to go back to the “old way” and return the membership season. We will have again three seasons:

Fall 2010

 September 1 – December 31

Winter 2011

 January 1 – April 30

Summer 2011

May 1, - August 31

An added benefit is that membership and court rates under the “new” system are considerably lower than the last seasonal membership rates we had in 2008.

All current members whose membership expires after September 1 will continue to play under the all-inclusive membership rules until their membership expires. A membership expiration list is available to all current members.

There will be no limitations on the number of reservation a member can make. However, all cancellations within 24 hours will incur the regular court fee charge. No exceptions. Members will be able to reserve a court via the internet* or through our phone system. Each member will have an entry code for the building. Our lounge will be open for our members and the BYOB system will remain in effect.

*Members will be able to reserve on the internet if they have a Yahoo ID or an e-mail account.

Payment for court fees must be made in advance or via credit card on file unless prior arrangements have been made with tennis club personnel. Cash payment before play will be available. At this time, I am not able to handle charges and monthly statements for members who do not have a credit card on file.

Regular season contract will be available to members and corporate contracts will be available to non-members. Season contracts will run the length of the season and corporate contracts can start at anytime and run for four months or longer.

I am planning to continue the leagues based on member interest and participation. League participants who cancel within 24 hours of the scheduled play will incur the regular league fee. The only exception to this rule is if the member finds a substitute of similar playing ability to participate in the league. If the substitute does not show for any reason, the original league member will be charged the regular league fee. No exceptions.

Paul is available to teach clinics, leagues and juniors on a daily basis by appointment.
